Yesterday, James and I went to an ice cream parlor that makes weird and unusual flavors. I remembered the building from an episode of Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre Foods. I was thankful that I’d seen it. James was being a good tour guide. Across from this ice cream parlor was a vegan restaurant. I ordered a tofu pesto sandwich while James ate a vegan taco. Overall, the meal was delicious and the experience was fresh.
I started my day around 9:20am. I woke and rushed to the shower and later called my grandmother who would pick me up and then drop me off at the train station.
After being dropped off at Union Station, I checked in my bag, and proceeded to Olvera Street. There, I bought a few trinkets and a couple of taquitos to quell my hunger. I then walked to City Hall where I thought I’d meet a friend who works there. Today was his day off. I was able to visit the office of District 10’s councilman, Herb J. Wesson, Jr. There was an interesting public forum being held in the Ferraro council room. I sat in on the proceedings for a couple of minutes.
I got on the bus and went to Bakersfield, then on to Hanford, California. Here are some photos. I wrote this blog at my Auntie Carol’s house.
